Living Independently, One Skill at a Time
Everyday routines are the foundation of independence. Preparing a meal, organizing medications, selecting clothing, managing personal care, or keeping a home organized are tasks many people perform without thinking. When vision changes, those same routines can become frustrating or even unsafe. Our Activities of Daily Living (ADL) program helps individuals develop practical techniques that restore confidence and make everyday life more manageable.
Training is personalized to each client and their goals. Some people want to prepare meals safely, while others want to organize medications, manage finances, complete household chores, or care for family members with greater confidence. Using adaptive techniques, specialized tools, tactile markings, and proven strategies, our instructors work alongside each client until new skills become comfortable and natural. Every lesson is designed to solve real-world challenges rather than simply teach techniques.
The result is more than learning how to complete a task. It is gaining the confidence to live independently, make personal choices, and participate fully in everyday life. Whether someone is adjusting to recent vision loss or has lived with blindness for many years, ADL training provides practical solutions that reduce frustration and increase freedom.
